Abstract
The palynoflora of subsurface coal-bearing sequence in cores from boreholes TC-1 and TC-2 in Kandmanglam and Marakkanam area, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Union Territory has been found to be rich in pteridophytic spores. The palyno-assemblage is assignable to the Coptosporo cauveriana Zone of Aptian age. The findings add to our knowledge of Gondwana coal deposits along the east coast of India.
